My name is Jade Starr.
I am yet another human being jostling for a position of acceptance on this rock we call earth. I also happen to be labeled transsexual but prefer to engage people as just ME, proving that beyond a shadow of a doubt that no label could ever contain the energy within me. I'm a singer / songwriter with Gender Optimized rock band DreadCircus who also performs cabaret, comedy, readings and am also guitarist with Sydney Comedian Glace Chase. Originally from Melbourne, now living in Sydney, I'm a writer, actor, producer, musician and optimist. I'm naturally always pushing the envelope and shoot straight from the heart.
As an imperfectly perfect human being I?m prone to making mistakes, often misunderstanding myself and others but continue to push myself to grow and expand as an ever evolving person. My experiences in life thus far are extreme, varied and best described as a roller coaster. I have lived a single life within 2 very different genders and am quite proud to express myself as a transsexual woman without shame or fear.
I believe in equality, freedom, love, self awareness and growth. My musical tastes vary from Death Metal to Rock / Pop and Jazz. I have a fondness for dark, underground films and imagery and love spending time online. Recently I?ve added journalism to my credits writing on this very site which has been awesome and a great outlet to vent my feelings.
My band DreadCircus has toured all over Australia at some of the biggest GLBT events like Feast, Midsumma and Sydney Mardi Gras. We currently have released out NEW CD ?Gender Optimized 2.0? which is available from our website below.
