All About Me
Born and bred on the land in Northern NSW originally on a cattle & sheep station. Was a bit of a tear-away as a kid (caught joy-riding on an old tractor at age 11yrs with an older cousin - and this old tractor didn't go fast. LOL.)
Sent first to a Catholic high school in the country (my poor parents were asked to find this Freak a new school after only 1 year of attendance) and then to a boarding school in Sydney where my parents hoped the "good" Marist Brothers would thrash some discipline into me. During my time there, discovered my gayness and started experimenting (outside of school). Got caught too many times scaling the walls of the school & was promptly expelled.
Moved to Sydney when I was 18yr (the early 1970s - yes I'm THAT old). Remember places like Jools, Tropicana, Capriccios-International Vanities, 253 sauna, Tina's Bar, The Barrel Inn, The Rex Hotel (The Bottoms Up Bar), Patchs Nightclub, Flo's Palace, Palms (still there), The Peak, Cricketer's Arm Hotel, King Steam (in King Street), The Roman Baths, Castellos and The Park Inn Hotel.
Saw the emergence of Gay Liberation and in the 1980's of AIDS. Like many of my "vintage" lost a lot of friends to the virus. Many good folk died too young, before their time.
Am very "technologically challenged" in this computer age. Have a support base of good friends and find that my "Freaky" sense of humour gets me by.
