Ladytron Are Coming!
If you haven't heard of Ladytron, do yourself a favour. This longstanding UK indie-electro band Ladytron are set to make a visit to Australia this year for their well overdue debut live tour.
Yuri is a 44 year old guy from Balmain, NSW. He's gay and in a relationship and last visited us in the last ten mins.
| Yuri is feeling vaguely Mayakovskian in a Firbankian sort of way. |
Approaching my one-year anniversary in Sydney via San Francisco (and Boston, and central California, and a stint in Prague), having moved here with my Aussie born-n-raised partner.
Having a blast in our cool little house in Balmain, getting to know the area, messing around in my garden. Would love to make new friends to socialise with (and who knows what else, but really, it's mostly wanting to expand the platonic social circle).
I'm the world's worst homosexual - can't dress fashionably, won't go out on the dancefloor, would rather be in a quiet pub than a noisy club. Say hi and we can talk rock and roll, odd books, old movies, and the Sydney Swans.
Poetry, history, humour, rock and roll, travel, interesting movies (esp, silent film), animals, exploring Australia
Tons of stuff, none of which gets me in good with my fellow Gays, Usually loud shatter-glass-at-30-metres guitar - noise/sludge/feedback (Boris rules), rockabilly, psychedelia, also a bizarre penchant for 60s/70s bubblegum, currently obsessing on 500 Miles To Memphis, a wonderful little band
the movies of Ozu Yasujiro, Federico Fellini, Buster Keaton, um, and plenty of gay porn
Master & Margarita, Tristram Shandy, any good farce/satire - currently being blown away by the books and life of Ronald Firbank

Tasmania once looked like it was dragging its feet when it came to gay rights, but if the Tasmanian Greens party has its way, the southern state might lead the charge in state-based legislation to legalise gay-marriage.
More good news from the Gay & Lesbian Rights Lobby! Same-sex couples and their children are now recognised in the Federal Government's newly released National Employment Standards.
The wedding bells are ringing across California as gay couples make use of their shiny, new marriage legislation. The first gay couple allowed to marry was Robin Tyler and Diane Olson.
The Manacle boys know how much you've been looking forward to their return. While The Clarence officially opens next Friday night, those of you who just can't wait that long are welcome to drop in this weekend for a bit of a test drive.
The gay community in Belgrade, Serbia are looking forward to the arrival of the Eurovision Song Contest. They see the influx of gay tourism, as well as the glitz and glamour of the contest, as their chance to come out publicly again.
Stuart and Andrew are thrilled that they can finally officially announce the new home of Manacle. The boys have bought The Clarence Hotel, which is on the corner of Parramatta Road and Crystal Street, Petersham.
Northern Israeli authorities raided a sauna in Haifa over the weekend, arresting 11 men and claiming the gay venue was a brothel.
Nathan Burke, former St Kilda skipper and now club director has spoken out about homophobia in the AFL. He wants the league to discipline and penalise players who use homophobia to get ahead.
What a great CD, this is right up my alley! New Folk Sounds is a twin disc pack sporting 43 tracks that include some of my favourite artists - The Waifs, The Audreys, Kasey Chambers, K.D. Lang, Holly Throsby, Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle...
