Where do I begin??
I?m Cheyne (pronounced Shane) and at the moment my life?s consumed with the spectre of my second 39th birthday looming over me. People tell me its time to grow up - what does this mean? Should I ditch the Converse for a pair of those leatherette grey shoes with the zips up the side and a sensible heel? Should I shun the Cargos and get a pair of beige slacks with the twin pleats at the front? Should a nice zip up cardigan replace my polos? Should I lose the earrings before they become entangled in unsightly excess ear hair? - Its all becoming far too much for me and I?ve taken to self-medicating with the tranquillisers the vet gave me to calm my dog down when I take her to the vet
On the topic of self-medicating - I could possibly be an alcoholic, but for classiness I prefer the term Gutted Booze Hag. I do drink rather a lot, but have cut down considerabley after falling victim to a series of misadventures caused by my lust for the grape. The worst being recently when I mixed my antihistamines with a purse pack of moderately priced moselle and ended up being detained by store detectives after I misinterpreted the instruction ?Pull? on the change room door
Job wise I tend to follow Oscar Wildes? belief that ?Work is the cure of the drinking class? and am currently not working. Prior to being emancipated from the shackles of work I was a youth worker and spent my days assisting disadvantaged or at risk kids and also the young crew in trouble with the law
