I love music. Lots of different styles. Generally, I love it electronic but have pretty varied taste. From film scores to choirs, psytrance to drum'n'bass, solo vocalists to angry noisy whatever-the-f*ck-it-is.
I have DJ'd for several years (professionally) in straight circles. Several styles of music: Progressive Breaks, Hardcore, Techno (Slammin' Tech), Oldskool/Jungle/Rave, Trance.
Currently mixing a blend of Progressive House, Tech House and Electro.
My musical tolerance has improved since being out and about in the queer circles, I still dont love a lot of it, but I dance to it with my mates.. cause they are why I'm there. I'd love the musical choices to improve in the queer scene..
Otherwise - I'm a bit of a geek, I've had an affinity for computers for a long time, cant seem to get enough of them. Seem to be able to pick up most things electronic and run with them easily. I feel like i balance out the uber-geekiness with a solid ability to be social and interact with the non-geek crowd. I'm very much into web. Not myspace.. not facebook. I mean i am interested in web development, web trends, accessibility, design, usability etc. And I work in that area which means I love my job!
I take the piss out of myself all the time and the ones I love.
I joined samesame.com.au for a few reasons. As above, I love web. SS seems to be fairly modern in its web concepts, which I can't say about many other Aussie specfic queer sites. The community that's not centred around cruising is also a strong point as sometimes I feel like we dont want to see real people, just abs, sex, glam (shudder).
