CD - Pure Pacha 2007

Pure Pacha are renowned for leading the field with strong sounds beats and sounds to make you move. Out now is Pure Pacha 2007 which is designed and made to make you want to move. The two discs are mixed by Pete Tong and Sarah Main who deliver a heavenly spread of sounds to tickle even the most reserved listener.

Disc one is mixed by Pete Tong. A legendary DJ from Radio 1 UK’s Essential Selection, he’s known world wide and listening to his mixing – it’s not hard to understand why. Smooth blending from one song to another. No stop and start feelings that some dance compliations have can be heard. His song selections are the very best from a hot Ibiza summer and fresh tracks from the European clubs.

Highlights of Pete’s disc would have to include With Every Heartbeat by Robyn with Kleerup, Transistor Radio by Fragmente, Sorry by Kaskade and Pete Tong’s own contribution Wonderland with Superbass.

Taking on the task of disc 2 is Sarah Main. She is an Australian ex-pat who has a residency at Pacha Ibiza. Listening to her mixes and blends, Pacha have chosen incredibly well with getting this girl on board. Sarah Main is a stunning woman – both in looks and talent.

Sarah’s disc kicks off with a bief snippet of The Others by TV Rock Vs Dukes of Windsor. From there it flows into You by W.V.P. pres. DJ Cem feat Tanja Dankner. Sarah’s talent is apparently with the effortless transition of all the songs. Her sounds are definite and make that natural progression through the tracks that club DJs can only dream of.

Sarah’s tracklisting had several highlights for me and have been played a couple of times over. Even the guy in his 50s who sits beside me at work can sing along with Ride the Storm by Carl Kennedy now. He’s still perfecting East Lights by Magik Johnson and groans as loudly as I do at the full length version of The Others. Other tracks to play are I Found You by Axwell and Tainted Love by Richard Grey feat Marc Almond. Yes, it’s another remake but for once it works! I know, my heart nearly stopped when I realised too. At the end of the final track Undisco Me by Billie Ray Martin is another snippet of The Others. Her fascination with this song is obvious. Sarah dear, the song’s dead. Let it go. NOW!

Pure Pacha 2007 features hot sounds by two of the leading DJs we have today. It couldn’t have been better put together or produced if they’d tried. Superb tracklisting, smooth sounds and seamless blends. It’s a night club which can fit in your cd player. Turn it up, close your eyes and feel yourself writhe.

Pure Pacha 2007 is out now through Central Station.
