Last Friday I witnessed an unusual, sexy and very entertaining event. It was one of Tim Draxl’s recent, some might say short lived, string of Sydney shows.
When Tim began his show I felt my skin shaken slowly. The music created by the pianist’s hands fit perfectly with the warm attitude that the artist claimed. Suddenly, the first note of music came out from his lips and it was at that moment the night turned into an unforgettable experience.
The cabaret style that Tim is exploring at this stage of his career is simply refreshing. (It is worth mentioning that 80 percent of the audience that night were adults of mature age).
The show continued and it was time to witness the most tender moment of the night. The artist dedicated a song to the person who has given him the most support throughout all these years – his mother. The song that Draxl performed with so much love was a sweet melody accompanied by sincere lyrics, which I believe created a very comforting moment for the audience.
Tim’s mother was in front of the stage accompanied by family and close friends, and I am sure that after seeing her son performing in such a wonderful way it must have been a moment of full pride and satisfaction for her.
As for me, well, I have to admit that it was during this performance I began to fall in love with Mr Draxl. The strong emotion that Tim conveyed into me made my eyes fill with tears. I was speechless admiring all the beauty that a human being can hold inside, and in that moment I understood how love can become art.
During Tim’s breif return to Australia he is playing this Friday and Saturday at The Supper Club.
