CD - Freemasons - Shakedown
I really laboured over this disc. Not that I hate it at all, in fact quite the opposite. The whole office was jumpin’ up and down for this one so I have to say a big thanks to my brothers and sisters at Same Same for the privilege of reviewing all of this great music.
And there’s truckloads of it here. 28 tracks in fact. This whole double CD is just cranking from beginning to end. All the big girl names are here and it’s a case of ‘which hit do you want to hear first, Beyonce or Angie Stone?’ It’s just massive.
What makes ‘just a CD’ so much more these days are the production values which this dual personality silver sliver of slickness has in leaps and bounds. Do you see my problem here? I can only bang on like this for a few sentences and then it’s just going to sound like I am some sort of Freemasons sycophant. And that sounds bad.
The Freemasons are two chaps from Brighton in the UK and they have been pumping out huge tunes for yonks! Remember one of Deborah Cox’s fiercest vocals from It’s Over Now and Love On My Mind both massive hits and remixed and worked the world over? It’s huge stuff and your going to love it.
Being a bit of a house poof these days I find my grooving restricted to chores around the house like some kind of whack job Sadie the cleaning lady, but I boogie nonetheless and occasionally hit the floors here and there busting some serious shapes. No, weird shapes. But I digress. Also on this glamorous and gorgeous collection of serious ass swinging sexy hits are huge chart toppers from Faith Evans, Fatboy Slim (a ripsnorter of a remix by the ‘Masons’) Judie Tzuke as well as a handful of top notch original tracks that would go just as well on a Sunday afternoon of Jaegers laybacks as it would on a fierce and funked up Friday night.
Seductively vicious and super slick. Love it. Be it. Freemasons are it.
