So what? She’s still a rock star. She’s also a trapeze artist and may just be the coolest chick on the planet. Who else could I be talking about except P!nk.

She set new records with her Funhouse world tour earlier this year and she has released a DVD of the concert just in time to be stuffed into stockings everywhere. If you managed to catch this show or have seen her previously, you already know just how great she is live. This DVD shows you all of the moments you’ll remember and some you may have missed, all packaged nicely and presented in Dolby Digital Surround Sound and High Definition.

The concert (and DVD) features all of the newer songs like Who Knew, Please Don’t Leave Me, U + UR Hand and Bad Influence as well as breaking out some of her older hits like Get The Party Started, Trouble, Just Like A Pill and Don’t Let Me Get Me. She also mixes it up in this show with some excellent covers – a sexy cabaret version of Divinyls’ I Touch Myself, Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy and a super fun rendition of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. The staging is fantastic and she performs several numbers while hoisted from the ceiling, performing her silk routines that she is now famous for. A stand out moment is her performance of Sober which she sings while swinging upside-down on a flying trapeze. There are definitely no Britney Spears style miming scandals to be found here.

There are some worthwhile extra features on the DVD, although they’re not in abundance. There are two concert tracks, It’s All Your Fault and One Foot Wrong, neither of these were performed during her Sydney shows, where this DVD was filmed. There’s a behind the scenes piece, On Tour With P!nk, which gives fans an insight into what her schedule is like, depicting things like rehearsals, practicing her trapeze stunts and doing yoga, along with exercising and getting ready to go on stage. A bloopers reel is also included but for someone who swears like a soldier and mucks around constantly pulling faces and being stupid, you would expect to see many more fuck ups and funny moments than what’s actually shown.

In all, the Funhouse Tour is a great live DVD that reminds you that in a relatively short time, P!nk has evolved into one of the best pop performers today, someone who is down to earth, talented beyond belief, and who knows just how to keep on thrilling her fans the world over.

Pink – Funhouse Tour DVD is out now through Sony Music.
