Stonebridge

When you’re an internationally acclaimed DJ playing regular sets all over the globe, running a label and remixing for the likes of Missy Ellliott and Texas, finding the time to make your first solo album as a DJ/producer can be tricky. Luckily fate intervened and brought StoneBridge and UK’s foremost quality dance label Hed Kandi together to produce one of the hottest and most critically acclaimed debut albums in recent years, ‘Can’t Get Enough’ that was released 2004 and as well as being a worldwide success it included the two UK top ten hits ‘Put Em High’ and ‘Take Me Away’.

So where did it all start . . . StoneBridge had his first DJ experience in the mid 80’s at his sister’s graduation party and found DJ’ing a consuming passion and as a result started his own night called Fellini in Stockholm. Alongside four other DJ’s he established the remix service and label SweMix and with the reputation spreading throughout Europe, StoneBridge began remixing for De La Soul, Rebel MC and Titiyo, amongst others.

StoneBridge moved on to become a major force with his remix of Robin S ‘Show Me Love’, which subsequently became his first UK Top 5 and a worldwide hit in 1993. Other big remixes and productions followed like Chrissie Ward ‘Right & Exact’, House of Virginism ‘There For You’, Shawn Christopher’s ‘Make My Love’, Donna Giles ‘And I’m Telling You’ and the Tatyana Ali & Will Smith smash ‘Boy You Knock Me Out’, which garnered him his second UK Top 5 hit. After years of solid remixing, StoneBridge reinvented himself as a DJ and Producer in the late 90’s, and by setting up his Stoney Boy Music label which presented a more club based sound. This new direction paid off and in 1999 Coco & StoneBridge ‘The Beach’ became an Ibiza anthem and StoneBridge scored No 1 club hits with his remixes of Texas ‘Inner Smile’, Mel C ‘I Turn To You’ and Enrique Iglesias ‘Escape’. StoneBridge is always associated with hot artists and recently his collaboration with Robbie Rivera, ‘One Eye Shut’, his remixes of Missy Elliott ‘Lose Control’, Gadjo ‘So Many Times, Haji’ & Emanuel ‘Take Me Away’ and Armand Van Helden ‘My My My’ have topped the club charts all over the world with new remixes of Mischa Daniels ‘Take Me Higher’, Seamus Haji ‘Last Night a DJ Saved My Life’ and Jewel ‘Only One Too’ as well as a re-release of his 2000 classic Big Bass ‘What You Do’ ready follow.

Being a DJ in demand and renowned for his sexy, pumping house, StoneBridge is crisscrossing the world to places like San Francisco via Sao Paolo to Sydney with several international recidencies and regular slots secured including The Loft in Maidstone, The Cross in London and Family in Brisbane. StoneBridge’s new mix album ‘The Flavour The Vibe’ will be released July 2006 following his exclusive iTunes mix album Stoney Boy Sessions Vol 1 earlier this year and the Dance Valley Sunrise double album from 2005. Aside from various radio mix shows in Europe, StoneBridge is hosting a two-hour mix show for Sirius Satellite in the US (www.sirius.com), first Saturday every month, Area 33, ten to midnight ET.

StoneBridge is now working on his yet untitled follow-up artist album that is due to surface sometime during 2006. StoneBridge’s label Stoney Boy Music has a string of releases lined up including Chris Kaeser’ & Rita Campbell’ ‘Rush’ and Zentribe ‘I Just Love’.
