The Memory of Water

The Memory of Water is a big hearted and bittersweet examination of family and memory by one of the UKs best new playwrights Shelagh Stephenson. This award-winning play comes to Riverside Theatres for six performances only from Tuesday 11 September.
Trapped by a snow-storm in the hours before their mothers funeral, three adult sisters endure a bickering, humorous and unsettling reunion. There is Teresa, the martyr and caregiver, Mary the classic over achiever, and Catherine the wayward daughter. Deftly balancing moments of hilarity and sorrow, this extraordinary play explores the influence that parents exert on their childrens lives even long after they have physically departed.
Memory of Water is touring nationally, presented by Critical Stages, supported by Arts NSW and the Theatre Board of The Australia Council.
