UNLOVEABLE: THE B-52’s NIGHT
This month Unloveable turns its spacedust spex on The B-52’s, a band who still sing songs for a future generation, having formed in some weird cosmic thing in Athens, Georgia in the late 70s. Bang bang on the (dance) floor Saturday 4th July as the Unloveable DJs (Flippe & Jinx) are joined by special guests (knock a little louder, sugar) to dance this mess around.
Previous Unloveables have featured the sounds of The Smiths, Monkees, Serge Gainsbourg and the Velvet Underground, so this is the first night to take a squiz at the new wave & no wave scenes that cropped up around the band, so totally perfect to do all 16 dances, such as the shugaloo, the shy tuna, the camel walk, the hip-o-crit, the coocachoo, the aquavelva, the dirty dog, the escalator. It’s time to do ‘em right.
I say, don’t that make you feel a whole lot better, huh?
If you think The B-52’s start with Rock Lobster and end with Love Shack, you need to visit Mesopotamia, grab 52 girls, work that skirt and meet us on planet Claire to get a whammy kiss. This is going to be a PARTY OUT OF BOUNDS!
The B-52’s hour is at midnight but doors open at 9pm – come dance with us early!
Nobody is going yet
