HOMESEXUAL’S THIRD BIRTHDAY PARTY
FLASHDANCE : We Love The 80’s
Featuring SUZANNE PALMER (Chicago) Exclusively
Sunday 24 August 2008 / 9pm-late
Steam rising from gutters. Winter jackets. Leg warmers. Crazy big hair and tight lycra leotards. Got the picture? Dancing yet?
Yes, you’re thinking of Flashdance and no, it’s not a sequel (yet).
Your votes have come in and after bringing you Dannii in 2006, plus pocket rocket Anthony Callea last year, we knew we’d have to really work our grey matter to find a way to leave the terrible two’s in style. It’s our third birthday (time flies when you’re dancing) and for our party you told us you wanted the 80s. You loved the 80s in fact, you hearted the 80s. That’s pretty hard to ignore.
Not just anything from the 80s either – so we’ve left out he hypercolour t-shirts, never-washed trenchcoats and tucking our pants into our socks. What we’ve got is some pretty damn danceable music, even bigger sunglasses, out of control headbands and hair that defies gravity. Flashdance remixed for the 21st century, right by the harbour.
We’ve also got one of Chicago’s true disco divas: Suzanne Palmer. Responsible for anthems like Hide U, Muscles, I Believe and Show Me, expect her sheer vocal supremacy to rock Home like never before.
Add to that a bevy of our best local talent – led by resident Jayson Forbes – big production, shows plus décor dripping with Homesexual’s signature style and you’ve got a great night just waiting to happen.
Grab your mates, a leg warmer or two, slap on a headband and come join us for one last drink as a two-year-old at Homesexual: Flashdance.
