Description:
Civil Society is proud to announce the return of Adelaide’s most enchanting daughter, Sia.
In March this year Sia returned to Australia to perform for the first time since she packed her bags bound for the UK. Audiences who waited with baited breath for all that time were not disappointed finally Sia’s velvety voice washed over them at sold out shows across the country.
This December Sia will return for a national series of concerts and will make her debut at Homebake and the Meredith Music Festival to once more mesmerise audience with her soaring voice and brutally honest music.
From the quiet of Adelaide suburbia this true talent emerged, collecting accolades and fans along the way. In the UK Sia made a name as the jazz infused vocalist of Zero 7 with Mercury shortlists and Grammy nominations. From there she moved to New York where she would establish herself as an artist in her own right with a music style all of her own, combing that beautifully sincere voice with the cheeky humour she’s become so renowned for.
The compelling power of Sia’s distinctive brand of music has been confirmed in accolades and praise – Grammy nomination, Mercury Prize Short list, UK Top 10 single, the second highest watched Youtube video of all time, collaborations with Beck and Christina Aguilera, soundtrack appearances on Six Feet Under, Garden State and Grey’s anatomy and exuberant admiration from the likes of Perez Hilton and Kayne West.
This summer it’s time to get reacquainted with Sia and her smoky voice as she brings her beautiful songs to life on stage around Australia.
