Anthony Morrison - Illumination - exhibition
- Harrison Galleries - 294 Glenmore Road, Paddington
“To be illuminated is to gain awareness, knowledge, insight, inspiration and guidance. This, in turn, heightens our senses on every level: determining the way we perceive the vibration of colour, the energy of light and the essence of our environment. In keeping with the concept of illumination, these paintings reflect the new world we are moving into as a people and a planet: inspired by and merging with the presence of spirit and with a sense of greater understanding and awareness of – and for – one another on our unified journey.”
Anthony Morrison holds a B.A in Visual Communications from the Sydney College of the Arts (1986). Using his knowledge of classical principles and colour theory, he works in acrylics, oils, lacquers, translucent glazes, colour varnishes and sprays. Many of Anthony’s paintings take several weeks to complete as he builds up to 60 layers to bring depth, richness and perspective. This allows his works to “speak” of soon-to-be revealed worlds and dimensions.
